Installation

pnpm dlx shadcn@latest add @8bitcn/timeline3

Requires @8bitcn in the registries of your components.json (shadcn adds official directory namespaces automatically).

Usage

usage.tsx
import Timeline3 from "@/components/ui/8bit/blocks/timeline3";export function RoadmapSection() {  return <Timeline3 />;}
  • Show a product or project roadmap with milestones in chronological order.
  • Present launch phases, quarterly plans, or a sequence of progress updates.
  • Add a playful retro-game aesthetic to a landing page or product overview.

API reference

PropTypeDefaultDescription
titlestring"Roadmap"Optional heading displayed above the timeline. An empty string hides the heading.
descriptionstring"Where we've been and where we're going"Optional supporting text below the heading. An empty string hides it.
eventsTimelineEvent[]Built-in five-event roadmapEvents to render in order. Each event requires an icon (ReactNode), title (string), and description (string); badge (string) is optional. The icon is shown in a marker tile, and the badge is shown on the event card when provided.
classNamestringundefinedAdditional class name applied to the outer section.

Accessibility

  • The timeline title is rendered as an h2 when provided; event titles use the card title component.
  • The component does not add list or timeline ARIA semantics. If assistive technology needs an explicit timeline structure, add suitable semantics in a wrapper or adapt the component.
  • Provide meaningful accessible content for event icons when they convey information; mark purely decorative icon content as decorative.
  • The vertical dashed lines are decorative visual elements and contain no text.
